Elizabeth Skelton, a Carnation, W.A. native, knew she wanted to be a pastry chef from a young age. Even as a little girl, Skelton used baking as calming force in her life and to bring joy to those around her. With over 6 years of experience in the culinary industry, not much has changed for Elizabeth.

Skelton graduated from Johnson and Wales University Summa Cum Laude in 2014 before starting her career at Blackbird Bakery as a Cake Decorator, where she would stay for nearly two years. In January of 2017, Elizabeth began working at ChocMo as a pastry chef and chocolatier, perfecting her passion before moving to Charleston in February.

Elizabeth now lives in Summerville, S.C., with her husband, dog, and two cats. When she is away from the kitchen, you can find her traveling, reading, hiking, and even indulging in a glass of wine or two.

Elizabeth’s creativity, unique point of view, and joyful attitude radiates into her pastries and throughout Mercantile & Mash.
